September 30, 2007 - WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Report - New Castle
The DB Motorsports crew returned to Mark Dismore’s New Castle Motorsports Park for the facility’s inaugural WKA Manufacturer’s Cup
event. A stellar field of 44 karts turned out for the event and some of the nations best drivers were entered. DB Motorsports driver Caleb Loniewski
would be doing battle with the likes of current points leader and new TAG National champion Kyle Wiegand as well as multiple race winner Chris
Wehrheim.
Loniewski’s Cook Racing Engine powered Kosmic T-11 would qualify a respectable P4 in the order a mere 2/10ths off of pole
speed. Come pre-final time, Loniewski made the proper changes to his kart to gain the advantage over the rest of the competition, winning the
pre-final by just under a second over national champion and perennial front runner Wiegand. The final would be a hard fought battle, but Loniewski
would come out on top over Wiegand once again, also setting fast lap for the event. This win gave the DB Motorsports crew their first WKA national
event win.
The crew at DB Motorsports would like to congratulate Caleb on an outstanding drive and victory. Loniewski and DB Motorsports were
the only other team to score a victory in WKA Manufacturer’s Cup TAG competition this season. We would like to thank Cook Racing Engines, the
official engine builder of DB Motorsports, as well as J3 Competition, the nations importer of the Kosmic line of karts.
